My great-great-grandfather, Alexander Mullin’s marriage record (1872) in Philadelphia, PA, states that he was born in Harrisburg around 1849 (states his age at 23). Birth year could be 1847-1849. Family lore states our name was changed from McMullin at some time, and that one of the male ancestors may have been an orphan. Possible that Alexander moved to Bedford before the Civil War, then to Philadelphia after the war. He was married by a Methodist-Episcopal minister. Any info on his birth records, parents, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
